Introduction to Buddhism – Theory Starting October 7th at 7:30pm and running for four weeks, Sharon Gretzinger will lead a study course on the topic of reliance upon a Spiritual Guide and the practice of Guru Yoga. Material will be drawn from several texts, themes and topics illustrated through several practices and brief presentations given by senior students. In the tradition of Zuru Ling’s Union of Sutra and Tantra programming, each evening would include a presentation, meditation and discussion. With each class there will be time and space for all participants to share experiences, wisdom and questions. Open to all. Suggested donation per evening: $5./members, $7./non-members |
| Wednesday | At 7:30 p.m. Didi Zasep leads Tara practice. Tara is the Buddhist Goddess of Active Compassion and Wisdom. Praying to these Buddhas and reciting their mantras brings about the lived experience, the recognition that their real presence and universal qualities are to be found in your own open heart. Introduction to Buddhism – Practice Starting September 18th and running to mid-December, every Thursday at 7:30pm, senior students will lead a Medicine Buddha Healing Meditation for a hour and a half. Medicine Buddha is a powerful yet gentle healing practice particularly for bodily and emotional pain. The puja or ceremony will consist of prayers, chants and long visualization meditation and mantra-work. Open to all. Please come and participate or feel free to come and take in the healing energy. 1st Sunday night of every month: from 6-8pm – starting Oct.5th. We will have a “Lama Chopa-Offering to the Spiritual Guide” Feast Offering Ceremony – Zuru Ling Open House. This practice is lengthy prayer offering to all Buddhas, Teachers and Holy Beings. Please bring some light food and drink as offerings – they will all be shared during the ceremony. As this will be an informal Zuru Ling Open House, it is open to all. Come out and meet our community and share in this blissful practice. Last Sunday morning of the month |
